Where can you find the Ratzeputz..?
On this page we would like to introduce special retaurants, bars, pubs and so on, where you can drink an original Ratzeputz and where it has lots of fans and supporters. Maybe eventually there will be a location which you like, so that you'visit it in order to have a good time and maybe drin a Ratzeputz or two.
Let's start with the Ratzeputz in Berlin.
The Ratzeputz in Berlin is a popular meeting point in the German capital. Not only because they serve Ratzeputz. Its located in a part of Berlin called Neukölln.

Our customers and us descovered some time ago, that the Ratzeputz and the Heideheist are not only perfect as shots or in cocktails and longdrinks. They both go along very well with something sweet: chocolate...
Therefor many of our customers heve been asking for a chocolate bar which has our products in it.

Best chocolate covers a tender melting creme which gets its special flavour from the Heidegeist within. The chocolate bar is available as whole milk, or as dark chocolate.

Ice cold and aromatic. That's how everyone knows the Ratzeputz.
Its ginger aroma make it an ideal companion in many longdrinks and cocktails. In our collection of recipes, which is more than 100 years old there are uncounted variations and combinations of Ratzeputz, Heidegeist, Ratzingwer and the P.W. Finest Ginger Liqueur.
Sporadically we will publish some of these recipes on this page. We have started with the first four. You can look forward for lots more to come.

One of the most famous drinks with Ratzeputz is the one-O-eight (108). It is especially well known in the Lüneburg Heath.
Simple but with "resounding success"
| Ingredients: | 2 cl Heidegeist, Ratzeputz, 1 Heidegeistglas |
| Preparation: | Pour 2 cl well iced Heidegeist into the iced Heidegeist glas. SLOWLY and CAREFULLY pour some also iced Ratzeputz on top. You will get a "layer-cocktail" which will convince you with its taste and effect. The drink got its name from the sum of the percentages of alcohol from the two ingredients (Ratzeputz 58% vol and Heidegeist 50% vol). |
The combination of ginger and fruity aromas makes this cocktail something very special.
| Ingredients: | 1 cl Ratzingwer, 1cl Ratzeputz, 1 dash woodruff, 2 cl pear juice, 2 cl orange juice, Tonic Water or sparkling wine |
| Preparation: | Put all ingredients execpt the tonic water or the sparkling into a shaker and mix them well. Pour into a cocktail glas and fill up with tonic or sparkling wine. Serve pure or on ice. |
Simple - smooth / simply smooth / simply Susy W.
| Ingredients: | P. W. Finest Ingwer Liqueur, Champagne |
| Preparation: | Pour 2 cl P. W. Finest Ingwer Liqueur into a cocktailglas and fill up with well chilled champagne. |
Softer than its name, but surely with a "grenade-like" success.
| Ingredients: | Ratzeputz, advokaat (Bombardino), pineapple juice, sparkling wine. Bombardino is a special advokaat based on milk and is the reason for the cocktails name

| Preparation: | Put 2 cl Ratzeputz, 2 cl Bombardino and 4 cl pineapple juice in a shaker and shake thoroughly. Pour the mixture in a cocktail glas and fill up with cold sparkling wine (or champagne). Do that carefully, because the drink tends to foam. |
Although C.W. Baland & Langebartels, has been and is present for many, many years and although we could have produced a wide range of spirits, it was a very early management decision to produce and distribute only a few but very high class spirits.
Before the Ratzeputz was created in 1877, Baland & Langebartels produced a juniper spirit (a kind of Gin) and other specialities, especially for the German market.
With the invention of the Ratzeputz and its worldwide success, it quickly became the main product of Baland & Langebartels. Based on the original Ratzeputz, the Ratzingwer was introduced. In order to make the portfolio of ginger liqueurs complete, the P.W. Finest Ginger Liqueur was introduced shortly afterwards. Both, the Ratzingwer as well as the P.W. Finetst Ginger Liqueur were and are still both based on the Ratzeputz and therefor have the same intense ginger taste.
Not too many years ago our portfolio was completed by the Heidegeist. This regional speciality from and for the Lüneburg Heath has become the second strongest product within a comparatively short period of time.
